Teambuilding at ESCAPE

Team building is immensely crucial to foster effective and open communication among employees, particularly between employees and the higher management at workplace. And on 28th June 2014 at Escape Adventure Play Theme Park in Teluk Bahang, the company experienced an adrenalin pumping day – fear factor style.

More than 50 employees participated in the thrilling event that took place from 10am until 3.30pm. Before the start of the event, participants were firstly divided into their respective groups encompassing ten members each. A total of five outdoor games were selected for the team-building event including monkey business, go ape, gecko tower, jungle swing and flying lemur.

After briefing on the rules and safety measures of the games, participants kicked off the activities with “Monkey Business”. This activity requires a great deal of balancing skills on tight ropes and upper body strength. It is sectioned into three levels with increased difficulties in regards to courage, physical coordination and mental agility. Level one was rather straightforward, but can be quite a challenge for people with fear of heights. Participants were seen climbing and swinging with ropes from tree to tree, and walking across logs for the routine.

Out of the five activities, “flying lemur” was believed to be the toughest and the most grueling one. Participants were required to hike approximately 30 metres above the ground and tackled four zip-lines (139metres) across the ravine. Some embraced it with such pleasure – enjoying the breeze as they glide through the trees. Others were screaming all the way from line to line. But everyone made it! Bravo!

Everyone had such great fun at ESCAPE! Kudos to all participants for displaying such an outstanding team effort, determination, persistence and courage in completing all the activities. We certainly look forward to more adrenalin pumping events. We are ready for round 2. Bring it on!
