The Official Launch of River Tropics
River Tropics, the first green condo in seberang jaya was successfully launched at its sales gallery, merely next to Tesco Extra Seberang Jaya on 19th December 2015. The launch was offciated by YB Jagdeep Singh Deo (State Exco for Housing, Town & Country Planning), YB Dr. Aff Bin Bahardin (State Assemblyman for Seberang Jaya) and Dato’ Jerry Chan (Chairman REHDA Penang).
A press conference was held after Dr. Lee Ville (New Bob Group Director), YB Jagdeep Singh Deo and Dato Jerry Chan presented their respective speeches on the launch. According to Dr. Lee Ville, New Bob Group Director, “I am delighted and honoured to join the green community of green developers to pave the way of building greener for a healthier lifestyle. Our state is growing. Our city is growing.
“Together with my fellow green developers, we intend to develop a Cleaner, Greener Penang. And today, with all its outstanding features, I am honoured that River Tropics has joined the other iconic green projects as role models for greener development of the future”.
River Tropics is an affordable green home condominium project that consists of 140 standard units and 8 duplex units. It is situated in Seberang Jaya merely next to Tesco Extra and near the First Penang Bridge. The total size range for standard units start from 1,346 – 1,483 sq feet while duplex units start from 2,543 – 4,113 sq feet.

YB Jagdeep highlighted during the press conference about considering giving incentive to developers who are going green on the mainland should they comply to the green rating tools such as BCA Greenmark and GreenRE, although the incentive is currently recognized in penang island. YB Jagdeep also added, “I will have discussion with REHDA on whether its possible to expand recognizing different rating tools apart from Green Building Index (GBI)”.
